Fall into hydration

As fall approaches and the air turns colder we have to shift our skin care routine to accommodate the cooler breeze. Shifting from a water based cleanser to a cream based cleanser can increase the moisture in skin during less humid times of the year as well as protect the skin from colder temperatures. Implementation of a heavier cream based moisturizer can create a physical barrier so that the needed moisture is locked into the skin. Exfoliation is key to remove dead skin cells and reveal healthy looking skin. Exfoliate up to 2-3 time weekly or with an exfoliating cleanser gentle enough for everyday use. Layering skin care products can also help create a barrier and increase the level of moisture available for the skin to retain. During the colder months restoring and maintaining the skins hydration level is the goal.
